In matching the Ayurvedic Rasayana herbs with Western counterparts for Aiyana’s Apothecary, we look for herbs with similar "propensities"—specifically those that act as adaptogens, nutritive tonics, or alteratives. This bridging of traditions honors Aiyana's French and Seneca/Haudenosaunee bloodlines by merging the wisdom of the East with the medicine of the Western soil.

1. Rasa (Plasma)

Propensity: Nutritive, Hydrating, Cooling.

  • Ayurvedic: Amalaki (Amla).

  • Western: Marshmallow Root or Nettle Leaf.

  • Healing Note: Like Amla, Marshmallow root provides a "cooling juice" (mucilage) that coats and hydrates the system, soothing the internal "dryness" often caused by chronic stress and trauma.

2. Rakta (Blood)

Propensity: Alterative (Blood Purifying), Invigorating.

  • Ayurvedic: Manjistha.

  • Western: Red Clover or Burdock Root.

  • Healing Note: These herbs act as "blood cleaners," moving stagnant energy and toxins out of the circulatory system, much like the Transmutation medicine of the Snake.

3. Mamsa (Muscle)

Propensity: Trophorestorative, Strengthening.

  • Ayurvedic: Bala.

  • Western: Oat Straw or Alfalfa.

  • Healing Note: High in minerals and silica, these Western tonics feed the structural integrity of the muscles, providing the "plastering" and strength needed for the physical body to feel safe again.

4. Meda (Fat/Adipose)

Propensity: Emollient, Metabolism Balancing.

  • Ayurvedic: Guggulu.

  • Western: Dandelion Root or Chickweed.

  • Healing Note: While Guggulu is famous for clearing "ama" (toxins) from fat, Dandelion and Chickweed help process lipids and ensure the body’s "lubrication" remains clean and flowing rather than stagnant.

5. Asthi (Bone)

Propensity: Mineralizing, Grounding.

  • Ayurvedic: Cissus Quadrangularis or Gotu Kola

  • Western: Horsetail or Comfrey (Symphytum officinale).

  • Healing Note: Known as "Knitbone" in the West, Comfrey and the silica-rich Horsetail support the deep structure of the skeletal system, helping the "Earth Keepers" stay upright and resilient.

6. Majja (Marrow/Nerve)

Propensity: Nervine, Sedative, Cognitive Enhancer.

  • Ayurvedic: Brahmi.

  • Western: Skullcap or Lemon Balm.

  • Healing Note: These herbs specifically target the "cavern" of the nervous system, quieting the "fierce fire" of the two-legged mind and allowing the "wings of worth" to unfurl in a calm state.

7. Shukra (Vital Essence)

Propensity: Deep Adaptogen, Vitality Restoring.

  • Ayurvedic: Ashwagandha.

  • Western: Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng) or Milky Oat Tops.

  • Healing Note: These herbs build the "Ojas" of the West. They restore the deep reservoir of energy that has been depleted by years of survival, fueling the Fire Horse for the long gallop ahead.

Integration for the Apothecary

By blending these, you create a "Global Guardian" formula. For example, a Rasa-Rakta Blend of Amla and Nettle creates a bridge between the Indian subcontinent and the Pennsylvania woods.
